At first Lara and I had a hard time deciding when, where and how we were going to shoot this thing. First of all, we don't a large budget to make this thing, if any budget at that. The only money we plan on spending are in the wardrobe department, since it will be difficult to portray characters from the 40's wearing clothes from 2017. For wardrobe we were inspired by the cliche film noir detective, who wears a fedora and long trench coat. Characters like
Rick Blaine from the film
Casablanca, portrayed by Humphrey Bogart, were inspirations when coming up with the look of our character, Detective Briggs. The wardrobe for Mrs. Leroux took inspiration from common attire worn by women in the 1940s
1950s.

Lara's Dining Room |
When deciding where we first thought of how we would be able to portray a questioning inside of a police station. Lara and I needed to find a place that resembled a square room with a table and a light. Simple right? Wrong. It turns out there aren't many places around Weston Florida with this type of setting. Changing the setting must change the plot and the story details. So we went with changing the details a bit in the script itself. Swapping out a police station for a house and an interrogation room for a dining room. This allowed us to keep an open mind when trying to choose a location to shoot this opening. Our first thought being one of our houses. Mine seemed like the perfect candidate until we realized how much we would have to change about my room and house altogether. Lara has a more modern house on the outside but on the inside she has the perfect location for the questioning. Her dining room is vert symmetrical and old fashioned, those are my only two requirements so we came to a conclusion that using her dining room would be perfect.
Now deciding how, we have our phones that have pretty amazing camera power, but I wanted to be able to physically hold a camera. Lara mentioned that she has an old camcorder at her house that we can use. For sound, we do not own high tech microphones so we will have to make something that we already have useful. My headphones have little microphone on the wire that I think we can use as a microphone. Due it's size I figured we would tape it to the edge of the table in front of each character, since it will be able to pick up their words and movements.
